Black Eyes

Just a little update on Tag's bruise. The color is setting in and it just keeps getting more black and blue. I don't think the last picture did it justice. To top it all off, now Maddie has a fever too. I have been busy all day wiping snotty noses and dealing with whiney kids.. yeah! But at least Cam is home, so don't feel too bad for me! Please don't show this picture to anyone who works for DCFS- they may pay me a visit.

Sick Little Boy

So Cam has been gone since Wednesday night on a riding trip to the Sand Dunes for work and all heck has broke loose. Thursday night Taggart was messing around and hit his head right in between his eyes on a coffee table. Now both eyes have turned black and blue and this picture just doesn't do it justice. I am sure people think that I beat him because it looks so bad. I was so stressed that he had a concussion, but he acted ok, so I hoped he was. I mean, how many times can a kid hit his head? Tag has WAY too many times! The next morning, both kids were awake at 6:00 am and Tag had a fever. Last night I only got 3 1/2 hours of sleep because Tag kept waking up and he was burning up and didn't feel good. To top it all off Cam doesn't have cell service where he is and hasn't called since Thurs. morning- either that or he isn't alive. I just hope he is having fun because we are not! Stuck at home all day with a sick kid and no adult interaction, yup I am pretty much going crazy! Thank heavens for DVR (I had so many shows to catch up on) and blogging.. these 2 are keeping me in touch with the rest of the world!
But I just feel so bad for my sick little man. He is been so much fun lately. I am loving the stage that he is in. He is talking and having fun with us and I love it! To top it all off, the morning after we got home from Hawaii he said he wanted to wear underwear. I have been a lazy, bad mom and haven't even tried to potty train him. I just didn't want to have major battles and would rather have waited until he was ready.. so let's just say he was and is now totally potty trained! It is so nice and it has been soooo much easier than expected! So hopefully Cam will get home soon to relieve me! I don't know how single moms do it??

Daddy Daughter Birthday Week

Maddie turned 1 last Saturday. It is hard to believe that just a year ago she was born at 6 lbs. 1 oz., three weeks early. She has grown into such a fun little girl. She is starting to develop her own personality and sometimes starting to be quite the little drama queen. She is scooting around like a maniac, pulling herself up to everything, and walking along furniture. She is being so sweet with giving cuddles and kisses too! She also likes to pretend to talk on the phone with everything electronic.. I wonder where she got this from? She also makes this funny face where she scrunches up her nose and face and blows in and out. She has been doing this for months and it is so funny! We are loving her so much and can't stop kissing her sweet cheeks. On Saturday we had lots of family members make the trip down to see us and had a big birthday bash for her and Cam (his birhtday is only 2 days after hers). I made each of them a cake and they blew their candles out together. Maddie didn't quite know what to think of her cake. She licked a little of the frosting, but didn't want any of the actual cake.. she is a picky eater! I took her to her yearly checkup today and she weighs 18 lbs. 12 oz. and is 29 inches tall. We had a lot of fun celebrating both of the special days with everyone and we ate WAY too much cake! Happy Birthday Maddie and Cam!

Pictures from Hawaii

I just accidentally posted my last post and didn't even get a chance to add my slide show or proof read it- so sorry about the errors and here are the pics! Mahalo!

Aloha!

I know many of you have been waiting to see how our trip went, but it has taken me some time to get this thing posted! I have been slightly depressed since coming home to snow in St. George and missing the beautiful beaches of Hawaii every second! But finally here it is! We had such a wonderful time! The kids did surprisingly well on the plane ride; the slept the whole way home! We did a lot considering we had 3 kids in our group. We took the highway to Hana, which was a crazy ride and very long for the kids, but they did great and we saw some of the most beautiful places in Hawaii. Taggart, Marion, Katrina, and I went on a helicopter ride. It was rainy, but we still saw tons. It was amazing! Taggart got a little nervous and hated the head set, so he took it off and napped for 20 minutes of the ride. The guys went deep sea fishing one day and Cam caught a huge mahi mahi fish, but the darn thing got away. We went snorkeling one day and saw some turtles and scuba diving another day and saw a shark, more huge turtles, eels, etc. We saw tons of whales and it was incredible! Taggart loved the ocean. Every morning he would wake up and say he wanted to go to the ocean and see if the crabs were awake. Maddie loved the beach too; we would set her down and she would scoot to the water- she was always covered in sand! We had such a good, relaxing vacation- considering we had our kids with us. It was so good to just relax and play with the kids and not have to worry about life. Our beach house was in Kihei, Maui and it was right on the beach. It was so nice to be so close and be able to sneak down to the beach when the kids were napping. All in all, we had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back to paradise! Aloha!
