Cam's Home!

For those of you who don't know, Cam has been gone since Wednesday. He finally got home last night in the middle of the night. He went scuba diving near Catalina Island with his brother and his friend. They caught lobster, logged tons of dives, and spent the entire time on this boat in the middle of the ocean. He brought home two lobsters for us to eat, although I can't eat them since I am allergic to shellfish. He had a great time on his boys' trip. Needless to say, I have been a single mom while he was gone. Let's just say I am sooo glad that I have a husband who is super helpful. I was really nervous when he left since I have never been alone with the kids for four entire days straight. I was worried about my sanity to say the very least! Well things were rough at times, but we were pretty busy; we went to a Halloween party, the school carnival, the park several times, and just hung out around the house. Taggart only threw up twice and Maddie cut her first two teeth and decided that she wanted to wake up three times a night! By yesterday I was exhausted and pretty much let Taggart do whatever he wanted so I wouldn't have to fight with him. I was so happy when he arrived around 3 am! The kids were even happier to see their Daddy. Tag really missed him and asked about him every night when he went to bed. Several times I wanted to curse Cam for leaving me alone, but then I just thought about the girls' trip that I am already planning in my head for next year! I don't know how single moms do it.. they must be wonderwomen!! Here are a few pics from Cam's trip.

Fun Weekend!

So we ended up going up north suddenly because Cam's uncle Gary died and we attended his funeral on Friday. My mom and dad watched both kids from 9:30 until 6:00. WHOA!! I had never left Maddie this long in her lifetime and she did awesome! She ate her bottles great and took a 3 hour nap while she was at her Nana and Poppies. Taggart had a ball (as usual). He played in the leaves at Great Grammies house, jumped on the trampoline, and played most of the time with his Poppy. It was so nice to attend the funeral, grave side service, and luncheon without being mauled by our two children. It was a relaxing day, even though a sorrowful one. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Cam's family, especially his mom and her siblings.

Cam ended up doing some work in Logan on Thursday, so we were able to catch up with some of our old friends and spend time with my family. Tag had a ball playing with his cousin Ada. It was so much fun to stay at Ted and Robin's and to see the Christensen's new house. We had a wonderful dinner with them both at EL Toro (we miss this place soooo much!) It was great to spend some time where we used to live and Logan was beautiful as ever with the fall leaves. It was a bit chilly for us though!

We got home on Sunday and our kids did very well in the car, both ways. This made us extremely happy. Then on Monday night we went to the pumpkin patch for FHE. Taggart rode a horse and the wagon ride and we picked some pumpkins in the pumpkin patch. Tag woke up this morning saying, "where's my punkin?" He is very obsessed with pumpkins and Halloween decorations; he thinks everthing is HOT! We had a fun time (again) at the pumpkin patch and Tag still keeps asking if we can go back.

One more thing.. Maddie is about to get her first tooth. Today I saw it, but it hasn't broke through her gums yet. So hopefully this will happen soon without too much fussiness. She has had rosy cheeks the last few days (maybe because of the tooth) and she looks so sweet. We love that little girl!

Finally Fall!

It is finally Fall time here in St. George and the weather is absolutely gorgeous! At this time of year I remember why I love living here! It has been fun to be making chili, cornbread, pumkin goodies- and just enjoying temps around 70-80 degrees. Last Friday I went with a bunch of friends to Staheli Farm. The kids (and moms) had a great time! Here are a few pics..
Here a some of the moms and babies that came.Taggart and Dylan loved cruising around on these tractors.
Tag loved sliding down this slide into corn kernels.

We're back from the Lake!

Well I know I have had a couple people who have been asking for updates, but we just got home on Saturday and I have been buried in laundry, unpacking, etc. So finally here is a new post about our wonderful trip! We usually go to Lake Powell over the week of the 24th of July, but this year Katrina and Cartson had their baby during this week so we had to push it back to Sept. It was much colder than we are used to; we didn't have to run the air conditioning at all! The water was a lot cooler than usual, but that didn't stop Tag. He would wake up and start taking his pajamas off- ready to play on the beach at 7 am. It was still a little too cold for this! Cam built Tag a huge super track for his big truck and Taggart spent hours pushing his truck through the track and into the water. Both of the kids loved Grampy's boat. Tag even drove it all by himself. He loved turning the boat in circles and it almost made us sick! Frank built a 9 hole golf course for the guys and they played it along with hitting tons of balls from the beach. Tag loved hitting the golf balls too. Taggart rode on the big tube (the molecule) with mom and dad and he really wanted to go wakeboarding when he saw mom and dad doing it! The nights were long since Maddie didn't sleep so hot at night, but the kids slept great during the day. It sure was different this year with just our family and 3 kids! Gone are the days that I remember so well of just relaxing all week long with a good book! We did get to relax a little. It was perfect temp for laying out, so I read and laid out as much as I could. We played games, watched movies, ate a lot of good food, and just hung around and talked. It was fun to spend time with Cam's family and especially the latest addition, baby Isabelle. All in all it was a great, relaxing vacation!
